| Weighted Armour Super Saiyan This is part two of "What If Goten Was Born on Planet Vegeta" You won't know half of what's going on until you read this: What If Goten Was Born on Planet VegetaGoten woke up, he wiped his eyes and slipped through his window, his tail behind him, he had applied for the training necessary to be a Saiyan soldier. It was a normal day on Vegeta; the Saiyans bustled through the streets getting into occasional fights, he sighed, if he were a bit stronger they couldn’t even stand a chance against him. The wind blew whipping fallen leaves into the sky, Saiyan Elites were mocking the low-class warriors and the low-class warriors were trying not to get into a fist fight. Against the elites they would surely lose. They were living in a world balanced and run by power and greed. The power was needed to keep the Saiyans from attacking the king and greed to keep the determination of others’ high. They wanted the power and with their greed for power they would train days and nights to get stronger. Goten was wearing the standard uniform that he was given, he knew there would be a fight, he could tell that the clothing was some kind of armour, was it the new model of the Saiyan Armour? He wasn’t sure but it was made to be fought in, “I have to do this,” Goten grinned, “If I do, I can imagine the food and respect they’ll give me.” Goten knew the clothes were tied in to the exam, somehow, if he hadn’t been given the armour he would be wearing his usual attire, a orange and black gi with a black belt tied loosely around his waist. He wore the same outfit everyday and it was continually getting worn from too much training in it. He approached the gate, a few guard scurried about. Goten remembered his fight with the king and was surprised the king had made it through. Goten chose to withstand his punishment and was put in a cell for 2 weeks, he trained in those two weeks and his power had grown. The guards opened the gate and Goten stepped in, he had also destroyed part of the gate but he was surprised to see it had been built to look exactly like it first looked. The walls seemed higher and Goten was ushered in by the guards, two guards stood behind him and two in front and two guards stood at each side of him. The security was higher or was it because of his past actions. Two Saiyan Elites stood and a few Low-Class and Normal stood before, Goten was pushed into what seemed like a perfect line. The walls were higher than the gate and the two Saiyans had unexplainable expressions on their faces. The Saiyans nodded and began to speak, “I’m Tortuis and he’s Zakrai,” A Saiyan with his tail wrapped around his waist pointed to his fellow trainer, he was wearing a variation of the Saiyan Armour that Goten hadn’t seen before, his hair was black like the normal Saiyans but it wasn’t as spiky, “We’re to see if you scum actually have a purpose,” Zakrai said, “This test will last five days during this time, you’ll be staying in those rooms. Four people each.” Zakrai pointed to the hallway which led to corridors which branched off into rooms. Goten sighed, he didn’t like to talk to unfamiliar people but he had to be sharing a room with some others, he would probably never speak to again. Tortuis began to speak, “You’ll also be put on teams of four and if one person fails all of you do,” Tortuis smiled and Zakrai laughed menially, “You’ll be given this day off, some can train while others can rest. It’s your choice.” The Saiyans laughed as they walked into the corridor and soon disappeared. Goten didn’t doubt his strength for a second but it was all about getting stronger, he realized after what had happened. Flashback The Saiyan police knocked on the door, they knocked so loud it seemed the door would give in at any moment. Goten knew they were for him after what he had done was a major offense. Trying not to put his neighbourhood in danger he stepped outside and went away with the police in peace. The police pushed him to the ground, he was at a solitary confinement, his fate had already been decided. There was no need for a trial. It would only end up wasting time. He was thrown in a cell, it was dark and gray. He could barely see, he squinted his eyes but he still could barely see. His cellmate walked over to him. He had a devious look to him and Goten didn’t really want to get in a fight with him. He stood tall and his muscles were large. He was truly someone to be scared of. He glared at Goten and began to speak, “Welcome to de prison life. I’ll be your cellmate. What you in for?” Goten shrugged his shoulders, “Killed two of the kings assassins, destroyed parts of the city and I nearly killed the king himself.” Goten’s inmate smiled, “My name is Captain Yagami but I don’t think you can call me that anymore. Call me Yagami.” “Nice to meet you,” Goten said. “Any person who wants to fight for freedom is a friend of mine,” Yagami said, laughing heartily. Goten shrugged and he laughed along with him, he wouldn’t be alone during this period of imprisonment and Yagami didn’t seem like a bad guy at all. Yagami went back into his corner and Goten asked, “Can I get the top bunk?” Yagami nodded, “Sure, I barely sleep any.” Goten jumped on the bed and smiled, “Thanks.” “No problem, you seem like a good guy.” “I guess you can call me that. “ “I don’t really like doing the bad things but being goody-goody isn’t my style either,” Yagami said, “I’m…good with doing anything.” “That’s…great to hear, so what you in for?” “I started a riot a while back wasn’t a very big one, I demanded to see the king and ended up killing a few of his guards,” Yagami said, “If I had been stronger I could have stopped him then.” “Well, the king isn’t that strong,” Goten said, “He isn’t weak either.” “Well, you aren’t particularly weak either,” Yagami said, “You’re the strongest boy I’ve met.” “I feel honoured,” Goten sighed, “It’s not every day someone tells me I’m strong but you’re a captain.” “Former captain,” Yagami said, “Well, I don’t recall asking your name.” “Goten,” Goten said, “My name is Goten.” “That’s a good name,” Yagami said, “Hope you’re proud of it.” End Flashback

| Goten tried to rush to his room as soon as the briefing was over, they had given each person a slip of paper telling their room number, “5,” Goten read off the tiny piece of paper, “That shouldn’t be hard to find.” He looked at the doors on one side they all seemed to be even numbers which meant that the odd numbers were most likely on the opposite side. He knew there would be a big fuss over the top-bunks so he had to make it their first.
He opened the door, there was no one in site it was a good sign. He jumped to the top bunk and pulled himself up there stayed waiting for his team members. The team members seemed to be in a hurry, as soon as Goten had settled himself on the top bunk, his three other teammates fought their way in through the opening. Goten using his judging skills could quickly judge his teammates, “Pretty Boy, Rich Girl and Braggart.” He had learned how to judge people for he was always being bullied so he had to know who and who not to talk to. He had judged right, the four boys opened their mouths.
“I’m Reisuke,” the “Pretty Boy” said his hair was spiked at the ends but otherwise curly. He was wearing what everyone else was wearing, the Saiyan Armour. His tail was curled at the end, pointing up in the air.
“Saiko is my name,” the “Braggart” said with a boastful air. His hair was like most normal Saiyans, short and spiky. His tail was hanging loosely between his legs.
“My name is Aiko,” the “Pretty Girl” said, her hair tied in a lose ponytail. She was wearing the female variation of the saiyan armour.
Goten jumped down, “The name’s Goten. It’s nice to meet you guys.”
“Pleasure’s mine,” Reisuke said.
“It’s more of a pleasure to me!” Saiko shouted.
“Same,” Aiko said.
“Well, you guys can decide who gets the other top bunk,” Goten said as he jumped back on the bunk, “You see I already got mine.”
A big scramble and a few misplaced words later, they had decided who was sleeping where. Aiko was sleeping on the bunk under Goten’s. Reisuke was sleeping on the other top bunk and Saiko was still complaining about sleeping on the bunk below Reisuke’s. The four of them decided it would be better that they trained and got to know each other.
On the way to the training grounds
“I deserve the top bunk!” Saiko shouted, “I’m the one who’s closest to being a Super Saiyan!”
“You actually believe in that crappy folklore?” Reisuke asked, “They only say it to get us to train.”
“I bet Goten could beat you in a fight any day!” Aiko added, Goten looked puzzled and Saiko glared at him, “I mean he did beat us all to the room.”
“I don’t think that counts, Aiko,” Goten said, “I mean I just rushed, that’s all.”
“But we rushed too!” Aiko shouted. Goten?”
“I could beat Goten with one eye closed,” Saiko snarled, “Wanna fight me,
“Eh...Why not,” Goten shrugged, “It’s not a death match.”
Reisuke laughed, “I could beat both of you with one eye closed and one hand behind my back.”
“Stay out of this,” Saiko said, glaring at Reisuke.
“There’s no need for use to be so mean to each other on our first day,” Aiko said, “I was just saying that Goten is pretty fast.”
“She’s right,” Goten said, “We shouldn’t be fighting.”
“Goten,” Reisuke said, “You just had to agree with the girl?”
“I agree when someone is making a good point,” Goten said, he kept his cool unlike the other boys.
“I know,” Saiko said snapping his fingers, “He’s trying to get on Aiko’s good side, because he likes her!”
“Of course I like her,” Goten said, everyone looking at him in surprise, “She’s my friend after all.”
“That’s not what I meant,” Saiko said, sighing at his friend’s bluntness, “You sure have a thick head.”
“You still wanna fight?” Goten asked.
“Hey, I have an idea, let’s have a tournament!” Reisuke said, “Ki and melee are allowed but absolutely no killing.”
“Alright!” The other three shouted in unison while Reisuke grinned about how popular his idea was.
At the Training Ground
The Training Ground was surprisingly empty, either faith had made sure they’d have the tournament without delays or obstructions or that everyone else thought it was a good idea to rest. They made a line up in the sand, “Match no. 1: Goten vs. Saiko. Match no. 2: Aiko vs. Reisuke.” Goten and Reisuke both jumped to the side, “Ready?” Reisuke asked he would be the official referee for the match, both of them nodded as they got into their fighting stances, “BEGIN!”
Saiko charged at Goten but Goten easily blocked, using his opportunity to counter he punched Saiko in the gut. Saiko held his stomach and stumbled back, Goten kicked Saiko in the face, then he unleashed a barrage of punches and kicks and soon Saiko was on the floor. Goten began charging a blast, “ENOUGH! This round goes to Goten!” Reisuke shouted putting his hand into the air, “Saiko will be fighting the loser of the next match to decide third and fourth places.” Goten helped Saiko up and soon Reisuke and Aiko’s match begun.
Goten would be the referee, “Ready?” Goten asked, both fighters gave a thumbs-up, “Maybe the battle between, competitors Reisuke and Aiko...BEGIN!” They seemed perfectly equal every attack was blocked by the other. Reisuke kicked Aiko and Aiko used her hand to block it, then she tried to counter using her other hand to deliver a punch but Reisuke jumped back. Aiko and Reisuke both began charging beams in their free hands, “HAAA!!!” Both of them yelled as the beams collided, the purple beam mixed with the pink beam in a swirl of colour. They were both seen struggling to overpower the other. The beam exploded and there was nothing to be seen dust had covered the entire scene.
The dust cleared up and both of them where still standing, Reisuke charged at Aiko but Aiko had been charging a blast in her other hand, as soon as Reisuke was close enough she slammed it into him. Goten observed carefully as Reisuke stumbled to the ground, Reisuke tried to get up but he couldn’t, “STOP! Competitor Reisuke is unable to battle. The winner is Aiko!”
“Match no. 3, Goten vs. Aiko...Ready?” Saiko asked, “FIGHT!” Both the fighters stayed their distance, both of them planning their strategies. Goten decided, he would go all-out. He charged at Aiko, holding a fist back to punch her Aiko was preparing for the punch but Goten had a trick up his sleeve when he was close enough, he withheld the punch and attempted to kick her instead. His kick landed on Aiko’s arm, she shook it off like nothing happened, Goten cupped his hands to his side, “Kaaa...Meeee...Haaa...Meeee....,” A small ball formed in his hands he didn’t want to use his full power, Aiko had been charging a beam of her own, she held he arm back and a ball was forming, “HAAAA!!!!” They both screamed and their beams collided, Goten knew what he had to do, he poured more power into his beam and it quickly over powered Aiko’s, right before it hit her he stopped it, “END MATCH, the winner is...GOTEN!” Saiko shouted, “First place goes to Goten followed by Aiko.”
“Ready?” Goten asked his hand in the air, “May the fight between Saiko and Reisuke...BEGIN!” He pulled his hand down and the two fighters charged at each other, they were completely even and the match ended in a tie. They announced the results, “First: Goten, Second: Aiko, Third: Reisuke and Saiko, Fourth: No one.” They all cheered, even though they had been fighting each other they had become even better friends.
“Goten only beat me because there was something in my eye,” Saiko said, “I could have beaten Reisuke if Goten didn’t beat me up so badly.”
“Just quit,” Aiko sighed, “Goten won fair and square.”
“Learn how to accept defeat,” Reisuke said, “It was a fair draw.” | |

| “Ri... an... shine,” Reisuke shook Goten, he opened his eyes and looked around.
“What is it Reisuke?” Goten asked rubbing his eye.
“First test,” Saiko said, “Get up, NOW!”
“Okay,” Goten said jumping off the bunk, he stretched, “Let’s do this.”
“Yeah!” Aiko shouted pumping her fist in the air, “Let’s do it right!”
“Let’s head out troops,” Reisuke said as he opened the door.
“HURRY!” Saiko said as he shoved Goten, Aiko and Reisuke through the door,” I can’t wait; they’re giving out dinner in the mess hall.”
“Don’t you mean breakfast?” Goten asked.
“I DON’T CAAARRREEEEE!” Saiko said pulling them all the way to the mess hall, “I’M HUNGRRYYY.”
“We get it, “Reisuke said pulling his hand out of Saiko’s grasp, “We understand that you’re hungry.”
“THEN HURRRYY UP!” Saiko shouted, Goten and Aiko broke their hands free and Saiko walked even faster.
“Saiko?” Aiko asked, “Why don’t we slow down?”
“WHY?” Saiko asked, “BECAUSE WE”RE GOING TO BE LAAATTEEE!”
“I didn’t know you were so gluttonous,” Reisuke said, “Keep that up and anyone will be able to beat you in a second.” Saiko pushed open the doors to the mess hall and it was almost empty just a few servants cleaning. A note was left on the door, “If you’re reading this then you actually believed us, yes? Well, we lied, no breakfast for you. Yours sincerely, Zakrai and Tortuis.”
“We came out here for nothing,” Reisuke said his face in his hands; he was getting a headache from Saiko’s behaviour, “Let’s just go to the mission court.” The rest of the group nodded and they walked towards the big hall where they would be told about their first test.
Inside the Hall
There were lines of trainees about ten lines in total, each line had four people since four people were on a team in total there were forty trainees and about only twenty of them would make it into the army. Goten had made up his mind, he would enlist in the army and then plot a way to overthrow the king once he got strong enough. He had recently come across some power but was it enough? Well, he wasn’t sure what the king had up his sleeve and he hadn’t completely mastered that power yet. He would just have to wait until the time was right; no he had to wait until the time was perfect. A bell rung and Zakrai and Tortuis walked onto a platform, Zakrai began to speak, “Okay, here’s the drill, we’ll have a little treasure quest.”
“Some of you guys may be thinking, ‘We’re not babies’, that is true.” Tortuis said.
“Here’s what will be happening, you guys will go into a forest and compete against each other for jewels, and each jewel is guarded by a strong Saiyan soldier,”Zakrai said, clearing his throat quietly, “That is why team work is very important.”
“We wish you good luck, “Tortuis chimed in, “Oh yeah and please don’t get killed.”
On the Way to the Forest
Zakrai and Tortuis lead the young Saiyans toward the forest. Goten could only describe the forest with three words, “Dark, scary and intriguing.” Goten didn’t know what made him so fascinated about the forest maybe it was because he wanted to know what made him afraid, what made him shiver. He looked around, the other Saiyans seemed scared too, this was one of the biggest challenges they would have to face except for a war, the wars would be a hundred times scarier than this, wars made forests like these look like a sunshiny enchanted forest with rainbows and unicorns but Goten had to face reality it was a scary forest that he and his friends had to fight in.
A big gate was at the entrance when Tortuis approached an interface appeared and he punched in some numbers, the gate opened and a cool breeze swept across Goten and his friends maybe the forest wouldn’t be so bad at all. Goten was starting to think that it might actually be fun; the thought of being with his friends in a forest wasn’t so scary at all. At first he had only pictured himself in the forest, he was all alone but now he had seen himself beside his friends, they would protect each other, that was the way he saw it.
Saiko looked around and he tapped both Goten and Reisuke on the shoulders, Goten spun around, “What is it Saiko” he asked.
“I-I’m scared,” Saiko managed to force out, “This place has a dark atmosphere to it.”
“It’s probably something else, “Reisuke said, “Just ignore it.”
“I can’t,” Saiko said, “It’s botherin’ me to the bone.”
“I was afraid when we were coming here,” Goten said, “But then I remembered I had you guys by my side.”
“Goten,” Reisuke said, “I’m glad to know someone feels the same way. On the way here I was just about to quit but they said if you lose your teammates lose, I said, heck if they don’t give up why should I? I thought you guys would forgive me but I thought about it. Why should I make you guys lose over some fear.”
“Me too,” Aiko joined in, “I wanted to just run away but you guys were acting so tough. If I ran away you guys would probably be disqualified and then I would have caused a big problem, I-I wouldn’t be able to face you guys if I had caused that. So I sucked it in and pressed on.”
“...” Saiko’s only reply was silence, “You guys are right. We’re in this together so let’s end this together.” Aiko, Reisuke and Goten looked at each other, that person was the Saiko that they had been teamed up with and they wouldn’t attempt to change him even if his life depended on it.
They laughed, the serious and dark atmosphere had drifted away they could once again be themselves. The high-fived each other, they were ready to take on any obstacle. | |

| “Alright guys,” Goten said, “Reisuke and Saiko, you go that way. Aiko follow me, we’re going this way.”
“If someone finds the jewel,” Reisuke said, “No matter how strong you are or think you are don’t attack the soldier. Send a ki blast into the air and that will be our signal.”
“I have a question,” Saiko said, “Why do we have to split up?”
“We’ll cover more ground that way, “Aiko said, “If you do however encounter another team what do you do?”
“If they’re too strong signal for us, “Reisuke said, “If you can manage try your hardest.”
“Alright we leave when we think we’re ready,” Goten said, “Ready?”
“Yes,” Aiko, Saiko and Reisuke responded.
“Let’s go!” Aiko and Goten dashed to the East while Saiko and Reisuke went west.
Goten ran as fast as he could and Aiko could barely keep up with him, he looked round then using all the strength of his legs he pushed himself up in the air, he held himself using his ki and looked around. He landed beside Aiko who looked at him confused; he grabbed her hand, “This way.” He said as he dragged her along, Aiko looked around for what he was talking about but in the middle of their journey a team appeared before them.
The team looked extremely tired; they seemed to have run for miles without stopping their leader approached Goten, “STOP! Go no further!” Goten looked around for an opening, he wasn’t in the mood to fight nor did he want to fight someone at a disadvantage, “Excuse me,” Goten said, “Could you please move?”
“Our leader moves to no man’s orders,” One of their teammates said.
“If he doesn’t move I guess I’ll have to make him move,” Goten sighed. He held out his hand, “Sorry.” The Saiyans looked at Goten, a ball was forming slowly he was giving them time to escape but they stood tall, Goten closed his eyes, “Continuous Energy Bullets!” he screamed as a blast was launched form his hand followed by many other small blasts. The Saiyans tried to dodge them but they were too slow, the blasts hit their bodies and they fell to the floor in pain.
Goten couldn’t look at them, their pride had blinded them but could it have also been love for their leader, he sighed it had brought him to pain to do what he did. He walked pass them trying not to look any of them in the eye, he felt it would bring him sadness. He walked pass but then one of them grabbed his leg, it was the leader; he struggled to get up, “In the name of my fallen teammates, I cannot let you pass.” Goten shook his leg and punched the leader in his stomach, he wasn’t usually so brutal but the leader had said something that made him remember. He had also promised his teammates something, no matter what obstacle arrived he wouldn’t give up. Goten turned around, he grabbed Aiko’s hand and began to run again.
Before Goten knew it, a ki blast was launched into the air. Goten quickly grabbed Aiko’s hand, “You can fly, right?”
"Sure I can,” Aiko said, “Why?”
“Okay, let’s go then,” Goten said he dropped her hand. Using his legs he quickly jumped into the air and held himself. He flew as fast as he could to where the ki ball had been launched from.
He and Aiko landed looking around, they caught sight of Saiko and Reisuke, “He over there,” Reisuke whispered quietly, “We spring him on the count of three. One...two...three...GO!” Reisuke, Goten, Aiko and Saiko jumped out of the bush, each trying to attack the Saiyan.
Aiko and Saiko stayed their distance by launching power ki blasts while Goten and Reisuke tried to attack the Saiyan head-on. This was the perfect team combination, who knew that a tournament where they fought against each other would only make them better friends and their power had increased also. The night after the tournament they had also formulated team attacks. Goten delivered a punch to the Saiyans stomach then he shot up into the air. Reisuke knew this combination well; they had named it, “Supreme Combo Attack no. 5.” Aiko and Saiko looked at each other and nodded, they stopped shooting ki blasts and rushed to Reisuke’s side. Reisuke, Aiko and Saiko kicked the Saiyan into the air and Goten waited, when the time was right, he slammed the Saiyan down to the ground. Reisuke, Aiko and Saiko put their hands forth and three powerful ki blasts slammed into the Saiyan.
Reisuke looked around the area; the jewel had to be somewhere. They had defeated the guard. Saiko noticed something glimmering in the bush beside them, he jumped to grab it, “Guys I found the jewel.”
“It must have rolled out of his pocket or something when we attacked him,” Aiko said.
“Probably,” Aiko said, “Well, let’s go find the other jewels.
“Let’s do an even better job this time,” Reisuke said, “We’ll win for sure.”
“Hey guys,” Saiko said, “I have a foolproof way of hiding the jewel.”
“Why would we want to hide the jewel?” Goten asked, “Don’t we need them later.”
“I see what Saiko is saying,” Reisuke said, “If we hide them they have no other way of telling we have jewels and then we can conserve energy.”
“Wow, Saiko,” Aiko sighed, “For once something you said made sense.”
“Aiko, stop making fun of Saiko,” Reisuke said, “He probably doesn’t need you telling him that.” All three of them except Saiko laughed. Saiko pouted, “Next time I get to battle against the Saiyan Guard,” Saiko said, “I bet I could do a better job than the three of you combined and then let’s see what you think of me,”
“Saiko,” Goten said, “The Saiyan Guard would rip you to shreds before you even get to look at his face.”
After a few hours of battling, a bell rung and a ki blast was launched to mark the way to the gate. All the young Saiyans pushed through the forest to arrive at the gate and some medical teams were sent to look for any lost or injured teams. The gems were turned in and the teams were recorded, “The first test is finally over,” Goten thought to himself, “But there’s still four more left.” | |

| “Chop, chop get up guys,” Saiko said early in the morning waking up his other roommates. “What time is it,” Reisuke asked rubbing his eyes with a fist.
“It’s 5:50,”Saiko said laughing, “Time to T-R-A-I-N.”
“Why?” Aiko asked she obviously didn’t want to train so early in the morning.”
“Oh, let’s just all die in the next test,” Saiko said laughing, “I don’t know about you guys but I want to train.”
“How are you so sure we’re going to die?” Reisuke asked he had to get answers.
“Yeah, maybe you’re just over-reacting,” Goten added, “It’s not unusual for you to-“His sentence was cut off by Saiko’s,”I over heard that the next test would be gravity training,” Saiko said, he wasn’t going to go down easily, “I heard last year a boy nearly got killed.” Saiko made he talked in a quiet voice, he didn’t want the other teams to hear.
Aiko raised an eyebrow, “Why are you speaking so quietly?”
Saiko frown, “Do you want the other teams to hear me?”
Aiko laughed, “Oh yeah, ‘cause they’re millions of people walking around at 5:50 in the morning.”
Goten looked at the time on the clock that hung in there room, “Aiko, it’s 6:00 now.”
Reisuke grinned, “I think it makes a big difference.”
Aiko sighed, “It just might.”
“Anyways, back to the topic,” Saiko declared, “You guys gonna train or not?”
“I’ll do it,” Goten said eagerly he was always looking for another way to get stronger.
“Count me in,” Reisuke said, he wasn’t going to fall behind Saiko or Goten.
“Do I even get a choice?” Aiko asked, the rest of the group grinned, “I guess I’m in.”
“Alright, let’s do this thing,” Saiko said as he led the group outside to the training grounds.
Goten breathed in the fresh air, the training ground hadn’t changed a bit. It still had the training dummies, speed bags and treadmills. Most of them were unused, the Saiyans seemed to like to spar with others, do push-ups or any other workout, and they needed no help from the man-made items. Goten nudged Saiko, “So do you know how many times gravity?” Goten asked he had to prepare himself; he had to know if he had to tell the others about his ability. Then maybe he could help them unlock their potential but for the moment he didn’t know any of their motives for trying to become a Saiyan soldiers.
The place was silent as everyone began their own training Goten tried to begin a conversation, “So why do you guys want to become Saiyan Soldiers?”
“To get stronger of course,” Saiko said, “I once promised my mother that I would get stronger and that I would avenge my father’s death. The king killed him, so I know I have a long way to go.”
“Mine is that I came from a certain neighbourhood that was once destroyed by the Saiyan elites,” Reisuke said, “Many people died and I promised myself that I wouldn’t watch it anymore.”
“You guys all have sad stories, but I’m afraid I have one too,” Aiko said, he big grin earlier turning into a frown, “My father once was a Saiyan Captain but he once starte-“
Goten jumped up, he interrupted Aiko mid-sentence, “Would his name be Captain Yagami?” Goten asked.
“Yes,” Aiko said, a surprised tone was present in her voice, “How’d you know?” “I met him in prison,” Goten said, remembering all the time they spent together, “He was my cellmate.”
Aiko, Reisuke and Saiko stared at Goten and Reisuke finally decided to speak, “You were in prison?!?”
Goten blinked, “Why is that so hard to believe?”
“You just seem like an honest guy,” Aiko added.
“Want me to tell you how I got arrested?” Goten asked.
“That would be nice,” Saiko gulped, he wasn’t sure about Goten’s innocence at that moment, what if he had been a thief or worse, a killer.
“I rebelled against the king,” Goten said, “It was quite a rush, he sent assassins and everything, in the end he came after me himself. If I had been stronger then I could have ended his reign there and then. Sadly, I did my best, I thought I killed him but he survived and then I was thrown into jail.”
“If you could actually bring the king to his knees, then that means you’re really strong,” Reisuke said.
“No it was just anger but keep what I’m about to tell you a secret,” Goten said.
“What is it? I love me some blackm..., I mean secrets,” Saiko said, grinning.
“I’m Half-Saiyan, half human, half saiyan,” Goten whispered.
“How can you be Half-Saiyan?” Aiko asked, “Where the heck would a human hide on this planet?”
“I don’t know the details but I’ve been raising myself for as long as I could remember,” Goten said, “I remember my father and that’s what he told me.”
“So does being you-know-what have its advantages?” Saiko asked.
“Yeah, I think it comes with extra strength,” Goten said.
“That’s exactly why you beat me every time,” Saiko said, “Now, if you had been a normal saiyan.”
“Saiko, why do you always have to be so full of yourself,” Reisuke asked, running a hand through his hair, “You just have to be best at everything, don’t you?”
“Yeah,” Aiko sided with Reisuke, “If you don’t do the best out of the group, it’s either you were hurt or someone was in your way. For once can you admit it was your fault?”
“Alright,” Saiko said, “Goten beat me fair and square at the tournament. He’s really strong, okay?”
“There could be improvement,” Reisuke said, smirking.
“That’s enough guys,” Goten said, “Stop making fun of Saiko.”
“I don’t need you defending me!” Saiko shouted his rage evident in his eyes.
“Chill,” Aiko said, “You don’t have to get so angry over that.”
They decided to leave it be and they each continued their own training. Goten glanced at Saiko he seemed to have calmed down a bit. He’d just have to leave Saiko alone for a while. | |

| A bell rung and all the Saiyans assembled on the training grounds. Goten and the rest of his team had made up with Saiko. Saiko had admitted he was wrong and that he was sorry for being such a jerk. The group looked at each other and they had no reason to reject his apology. They looked ahead eagerly waiting for Zakrai and Tortuis to announce the next test. The Saiyans stepped onto the main stage and they read off a piece of paper, “Your next test will be gravity training, please be prepared.” Goten was shocked this was too boring to be an announcement from those two. They then threw the paper away, Tortuis began speaking, “You’ll be training at one hundred times gravity during the start and then we’ll turn it up as we wish.” Zakrai nodded, “You guys may even have to pray to survive and then hopefully you don’t die.”
Tortuis slapped him a high five, “Good luck, and if we do however see you on the verge of collapsing we’ll send medical teams. So don’t worry too much.” Goten heard the sighs of relief coming from the other teams, they all seemed to be worked up about the gravity training, when he was excitedly waiting for it. It would be good way to polish his skills, not to mention increase his speed by several folds. Goten couldn’t help but get worked up about the idea, if there weren’t so many people around he could have been able to increase the mastery of his new ability. That would have also helped to increase his power, “Excellent,” he sighed, “An opportunity like this only comes around every once in a while.” He looked behind him sadly his teammates didn’t share his enthusiasm. He sighed; he hoped everything would go smoothly.
They had been led to a small chamber, a Saiyan opened the door and ushered them in. The door locked behind them and on the other side of a wall; through some open glass they could see their instructors, Zakrai and Tortuis. The Saiyans spread out; they stood beside their teams and most not an arms length apart from each other. They had to stick together, they had to know they had each other support; they wanted their friends by their sides, “Get ready,” Goten said as his teammates nodded, they were prepared, they had trained but would it be enough.
They heard a large cranking noise and the room suddenly got heavy, most of them fell to their knees except the few powerful ones all of which were present on Goten’s team. Some Saiyans pushed themselves up and shook it off, others just waited until they had regained enough energy. Some of them finally managed to get up, Zakrai used a microphone to announce the next stage, “Next up, 200xs,” he laughed, “You guys handle 100xs surprisingly well.” Tortuis joined in on the laughter, was it really that amusing to watch most of them suffer? They heard a switch flick and the room was instantly heavier, everyone fell to the floor but Goten managed to stay on his knee, after a while his teammates got up. The room was much hotter and they were sweating heavily, it seemed like it was torture instead of a training exercise, Goten would have loved to spar with any person who had survived such intense conditions.
Tortuis and Zakrai grinned, “It seems one team doesn’t know when to give up,” Tortuis said as he flicked a switch, “Now setting values to approximately 400xs,” The computer announced, Zakrai looked at Tortuis, “Don’t you think that’s too much?” Zakrai asked.
“I want to test the spiky-haired boy’s power,” Tortuis smiled, “He was the one who almost killed King Vegeta.”
“I see,” Zakrai said, “You’re confident that he has something hidden up his sleeve.”
“Yes I am,” Tortuis said,” And I want to see him use it.”
“So you’re risking the other children’s lives to see it?” Zakrai asked.
“There’s not anything to worry about,” Tortuis said, “Medics are on their way.”
“Are you sure they’ll hold out long enough?” Zakrai said, he would be in big trouble if he had been accused of helping Tortuis kill those children.
“Why, should I care?” Tortuis asked an evil undertone in his voice.
“We’ll get in big trouble if you kill them.”
“I’m positively sure they’ll make it,” Tortuis replied, “I bet my life on it.”
“His friends also seem to possess power,” Zakrai added, he was being drawn in to Tortuis’ scheme.
“No my friend, they may possess power,” Tortuis added, “But right now they’re going on pure determination.”
“I see,” Zakrai added, “That team seems to have the perfect bunch of Soldiers.”
“I agree,” Tortuis nodded, if they hadn’t had to do those tests, those four would already be appointed as Soldiers. They had the perfect qualities, power, determination, speed and everything else that could be put to the army’s use. Zakrai smiled his teammate always had a fine eye for new soldiers and overtime part of that ability had rubbed off on him.
Goten fell to the floor, the gravity was just overwhelming. The room was hot, every muscle ached and medics rushed in to retrieve the other team. The only team left was Goten’s. He managed to turn his head around bearing the supreme pain. They seemed to do no better than him, he had been suppressing some of his power but he still didn’t want to use it, at least not there. His teammates began to push themselves up and he mimicked their actions soon each of them could barely stand. They held on to each other for support. Their weak legs ready to fall at any time. They all fell to the floor, they all smiled if they were going to die, and they’d die with a smile on their face and their will to live still burning. In a brief second all the extra gravity seemed to have disappeared. Even though the gravity was off, they could barely move.
“Congratz,” Tortuis said, “You survived.” They all were happy but their muscles ached. They’d have to rest it all of in the morning, “I hope to see you guys in action on the next test,” Zakrai said as a group of medics picked up Goten and his group and carried them off to infirmary #2.

| Goten got up, he had a headache. The sun was shining through the window of the infirmary. His friends were still asleep; they really had to sleep off what they had been through the yesterday but he felt that their power had increased. He looked at himself in the mirror most of his body had been bandaged, it was the same for his friends. The medics opened the door, “Go back in bed little one, you must get more rest for this evenings tests. You wouldn’t want to collapse in the middle of it.”
“My head hurts,” Goten complained.
“Go in that rejuvenation tank,” the medic said, “In about three hours you’ll feel better.” Goten climbed into the regeneration pod, a medic pushed some buttons on an interface and soon the pod like machine was filled with some weird kind of liquid. The medic whispered something to the other one and soon they were putting his other friends in the weird pods. They repeated the process and those tubes were filled with water. After a few seconds oxygen masks fell and Goten strapped his on after struggling for a while. The medics put on his friends’ masks before the water filled their tanks. Goten closed his eyes, it was like the water was healing all his wounds. He drifted to sleep and the medics left the room.
About an hour later he felt like nothing had happened, he stepped out of the pod and soon his friends were awake. He shook his hand all the aches and pains were gone, the water had drained also but there was one problem they were all completely naked. Why hadn’t he noticed this before? Goten looked around, he spotted fresh clothes on his bed. He and his friends scrambled to their beds and slipped on the clothes. They all looked around and after overcoming that embarrassing moment. They exchanged their greetings and headed outside.
The infirmaries were spread out across the castle so they were unsure if the other teams had recovered, they were sure to have seeing as they didn’t go through as much as Goten’s team did. All of the teams collapsed at 200xs so it was natural for them to be ready before Goten and his friends seeing as they were less wounded and fatigued. They headed towards the briefing room; Goten wondered why everyday the location of the announcement of their next test changed. Was it because each room hinted what kind of test it would be? Goten thought about it, when they announced the first test they announced it in a hall, and it was a mission like test and for the other test they announced it on the training grounds and well it was more of a test to train yourself, that was at least what Goten thought. Hopefully the next test wouldn’t need him to use his full power. Would his friends accept him if he told them about his other secret? Would they just leave him alone afraid of his power? Those were the questions Goten asked himself everyday, every hour, every minute.
Zakrai and Tortuis walked up to the platform of the briefing room instead of standing each Saiyan had a chair to sit on, “We’re sincerely sorry for what we put you through yesterday,” Zakrai said.
“And today we’ll be having a little tournament, think of it as our way of saying sorry,” Tortuis said, “It starts at 6:00 PM, so in other words you have 6 hours to train. Don’t disappoint us; the winner and their team only get to do one more test.”
A bell rung and Zakrai and Tortuis smiled, “IT’S TRAINING TIME!” They yelled and most of the teams rushed out side to make up for the training they had missed. Goten and his friends looked at each other their bodies were now in perfect condition, that means they could train and get stronger, strong enough to dominate the competition without a problem. They rushed outside and they stopped at an empty spot on the training grounds, it wasn’t crowded for it was a fairly large place, it seems that they could train without the other teams getting in their way.
“So guys, what do you want to do?” Goten asked, “He thought that they should spar each other.”
“Spars wouldn’t hurt,” Aiko said, “A spar would be perfect we could better our fighting skills.”
“Not to mention integrate part of each others into ours,” Reisuke said, “It would be perfect for the tournament.”
“If we do,” Saiko said, “We’d develop each others weaknesses but part of our character could fix it. It’s perfect.”
“So a spar it is,” Goten said, “All four of us against each other.”
“This would be my first four person spar,” Reisuke said, “The most people I’ve ever sparred with were three.”
“Let’s do this on the count of three,” Goten said, his friends got in their fighting stances, “Level out your powerlevel. We don’t want anybody to be stronger. Then they might accidentally kill us.” Goten shot a look at Saiko, Saiko gulped. For a moment they concentrated, Goten powered down to Reisuke’s, Aiko powered down to Goten’s, Saiko powered down to Aiko’s and Reisuke, discovering they were using his Powerlevel made it stay the same, “Everybody ready?” Goten asked. Aiko smiled, Saiko nodded and Reisuke gave him a thumbs-up, “On the count of three...One...Two...Three....GO!”
Goten jumped to attack Saiko but Reisuke blocked his attacked, Saiko tried to attack Aiko but Goten kicked him before he could make it, Goten was blocking Reisuke’s attack before he grabbed him and he three him towards Saiko. Aiko used this distraction to land a barrage of punches on Saiko, Saiko was ready to fall but Goten held him, Reisuke hit Goten smashing him to the ground while he was helping Saiko, Goten dashed to where Reisuke had been standing and kicked him into the air and Aiko punched him in the stomach before smashing him into the ground, “Only Aiko left,” Goten dashed to where Aiko was and began to attack, only a few landing. Goten blocked most of Aiko’s attack managing to counter a few. Goten finally landed a solid hit on Aiko and she fell to the ground from exhaustion, he followed that suit.
He laughed, that was a fun spar, one of the most fun ones he had taken part in.
--------------------------
A bell rung and they were taken to an arena. It was dark but the setting sun still gave off enough light for them to see. It wasn’t a full moon today and some people thanked God for it was an open arena and they didn’t know what would happen if someone attempted to look at the moon or tried to create a Power Ball. Zakrai and Tortuis nodded if someone was stupid enough to do that they would have to step in but any Saiyan would like the challenge, so it wasn’t a rule to not use any of those techniques.
Zakrai disappeared and reappeared with a bill board type of instrument, there he would record the matchups and each teams score. He called up the teams each was to state their name, “My name’s Goten,” Goten said and Zakrai nodded writing down his name, he repeated the process with the other teams and soon all the teams were written down. The arena was considerably large; it was the largest arena Goten had ever seen. There was a place where spectators could sit and watch the match. Since this was only a test the other teams were not competing at the moment sat there. Goten sat down thankfully he didn’t have the first match he could just sit and observe the other two fighters. Learn each if their fighting styles in case he would be the one to fight them later. His teammates got to fight before him and they all seemed to win their fights easily but what was expected, they had gone through way more training than the other groups.
It was finally Goten’s turn he stepped on the stage and his opponent did the same. They got into their fighting stances, Goten signalled for his opponent to make the first move. His opponent happily did he rushed up to Goten but he quickly dodged, hitting him in the stomach. Goten dash backwards and his opponent shook it off. The opponent once again dashed towards Goten but this time Goten blocked it and countered by kicking his opponent in the face. His opponent stumbled back holding his face. Goten stood there, was this really the competition? He sighed; he wouldn’t have to use his technique. His opponent decided they wouldn’t give up and rushed at Goten once more, he tried to punch Goten but that was only a feint as he swiftly kicked Goten in the face. To Goten it was like someone was tickling him, his opponent withdrew his leg hopping back hoping to regain balance. He failed and he fell to the ground. He got up and switched to another tactic. He began firing ki blasts at Goten; Goten deflected each and then dashed at his opponent, unleashing a barrage of attacks. After his attack his opponent fell to the ground, unable to move. The medics rushed in and picked up his opponent while Goten headed towards the bleachers.
He sat down besides his friends, “How did your matches go?” he asked, “Looking at them from right here I’d say they were easy.”
“You got that right,” Saiko said, scratching the back of his head, “It was pretty easy.”
“Well we owe most of our strength to yesterday,” Aiko said.
“Yes, if we didn’t go through that awful experience,” Reisuke said, “We’d never get this strong.”
“I see,” Goten said, “My match was pretty easy too.”
“Yup,” Saiko said, “Looking from right here it looks like you dominated the match.”
“It seems so,” Goten said, “He was pretty persistent but isn’t determination completely necessary.”
“Determination is the key,” Reisuke said taking his eyes off the match that was beginning, “It’s not absolutely necessary.”
“Reisuke, determination IS necessary,” Aiko said, “It’s what keeps you going during times of hardship.”
“Sure,” Reisuke said, “Well this match is certainly interesting.” Goten, Saiko and Aiko directed their attention towards the match. The fighters were almost perfectly even. The only reason one of them won was because of wit and well, cheap tricks.
The matchups flew by and soon Goten’s team was presented as the winner of the tournament. They owed it all tot the harsh training they had been put through. Zakrai and Tortuis called them up on the stage and announced the final matchups. It would be Goten vs. Aiko and Saiko vs. Reisuke. Aiko and Goten were to fight first, “These are the rules,” Zakrai said, “As soon as the two fighter’s feet touch the arena the match begins.” Zakrai got pointed to the arena while Tortuis was explaining the rules on Aiko’s side. Zakrai and Tortuis stepped aside and Goten took that as a sign for them to go on stage.
Goten jumped on the stage, he looked at Aiko using his mind to slow down here movements, “Three...Two...One!” He thought, “Time to do this!” He dashed to Aiko as soon as he feet touched the ground and tried to follow up with a swift punch, Aiko managed to block it and tried to counter but Goten jumped back in time for the attack to miss. Aiko then followed up with a swift kick, Goten managed to jump off her outstretched leg, she dashed towards him and he managed to block all her attacks, “Sorry,” Goten said but I have to end this,” Goten punched Aiko sending her out of the arena by the mere power.
Saiko and Reisuke’s match was almost even but Reisuke had an advantage, he was a lot smarter than Saiko and a lot quicker too, although he didn’t have as much strength and endurance.
Goten and Reisuke stepped on the stage and without further notice the match had begun. They attacked each other head on each either blocking or dodging the other’s attack. Goten managed to catch one of Reisuke’s punches at land a counter. He then took this chance to land multiple other hits, “Sorry, Reisuke,” he said as he kicked Reisuke in the stomach sending him stumbling to land on his stomach. The match was over and Goten helped Reisuke up. Goten was carried to the centre of the arena by Tortuis and Zakrai and was declared the winner. He grinned at all the acknowledgement he was getting, he was the champion and he hadn’t even used his true power. This was pretty easy compared to what he had gone through in prison. | |

| Goten woke up; he and his friends had one the top four places in the contest, Aiko had won her match against Saiko which would make her third and Saiko fourth. As usual Goten was the last to wake up, the only time he woke up first was the time in the infirmary and that didn’t count because a little while after he had woken up he was dead asleep. He jumped out of his bed, “Hey guys,” he said yawning, “You sleep well?” Aiko grinned, Saiko nodded and Reisuke flashed him a thumbs-up, those were his friends alright. They only had one more test to go because they had scored the top four places in the tournament. If they’d pass this test they’d become soldiers. Then they’d grow stronger and achieve their dreams.
“I wonder what the next test will be like.” Reisuke asked.
“It’d be very hard,” Aiko said, “After all, it is the last test.”
“I want to ask something,” Goten said, “What are your ages?”
“I’m fifteen,” Reisuke said, wondering why Goten asked such a thing.
“Same,” Aiko said.
“I’m fifteen also,” Saiko said, he guessed they were all fifteen.
“I guess we’re all the same age,” Goten said, “My birthday was yesterday though.”
“Eh?” Saiko asked.
“Why didn’t you tell us, “Well, my birthday was last week if that helps in any way.”
“My birthday was a month ago,” Reisuke said, he always thought that Goten and Aiko were older than him.
“My birthday was five months ago,” Saiko said, “That makes me the oldest.”
“Doesn’t stop you from being the most immature,” Reisuke said.
“S-Shut up!” Saiko said sending a blast at Reisuke’s head. Reisuke caught the blast and looked at Saiko.
“And the weakest.”
Saiko was fuming, he charged at Reisuke but Goten stopped them, “No ki blasts in the room,” Goten said, “We don’t want anyone hurting anyone before the next test.” Aiko looked at Saiko and laughed. Saiko sighed and Reisuke tried to conceal a laugh. Saiko mumbled something and jumped on his bed. Goten pointed to the door, “Shall we leave?”
“Fine...”Saiko mumbled as he flung open the door. The others walked out and he closed the door, “Because I’m the oldest you guys have to treat me with more respect.”
“What respect?” Reisuke said, “We showed you know respect in the first place.”
“I don’t why you’ve been at each other’s throats this morning,” Aiko said, “But you better get over it before I make you get over it.”
“Oh, that’s so scary,” Saiko said, “Let the younger one make me quiet.”
“Age doesn’t matter Saiko,” Goten said, “If it did, I wouldn’t be the strongest.”
“Let the you-know-what look wiser than us,” Saiko said, “You guys make me...sick!”
“Are you still upset about the tournament?” Reisuke asked, “Why don’t you just fall of your high horse?”
“We shouldn’t be arguing before an exam,” Goten said.
“Stay out of this pipsqueak,” Saiko said.
“Now you’re taking your rage out on others?” Reisuke asked, “You’re quite a big shot, aren’t ya?” “Why don’t YOU fall of your high horse, Reisuke?” Aiko asked, “I don’t what’s your problem but ever since the gravity training you’ve made the centre of your life picking on Saiko.”
“Yeah,” Goten said, “And I don’t know if your ego went and inflated itself when you beat Saiko in the tournament.”
“You guys are right,” Reisuke said, “I have let myself well, you know. Sorry, guys, sorry Saiko.”
“Say sorry too Saiko you’re part of this mess, you know,” Aiko said.
“Sorry, guys and Reisuke,” Saiko said.
“Was that as bad as you guys made it sound?” Goten asked, a smile spreading across his face, “Anyways next test is supposed to be announced on the training grounds.”
“I guess when can expect a training sort-of test,” Aiko said.
“I guess so,” Reisuke said, crossing his arms while trying to think.
“...” Saiko kept his mouth shut, anything he said could be used against him later.
The Saiyan stood in lines like they always did and the tests were announced, Goten and the group were about to leave with them before they were called back by Zakrai and Tortuis, “You’ll be coming with us.” Zakrai and Tortuis jumped into the air and flew away, Goten and the others followed. In about an hour they landed in a deserted rocky cave, “Your test is the hardest of all the tests we have had power over,” Zakrai said.
“We sense great power in you that’s why,” Tortuis said, “You’ll be hunting a warrior with a bounty on his head.”
“Some of you may have heard of him,” Zakrai said, “His name is Hi...ru...de...grawn”
“Well, from the reports we get from the people he’s huge,” Tortuis said, “He isn’t Saiyan either. He’s said to be a giant...bug?”
“Anyways, I assure you he won’t disappoint,” Zakrai said, “He wiped out an entire village in one blow and an entire army with the swipe of his tail.”
“If he destroyed an army...” Saiko trailed of. “How the heck are WE supposed to beat him?”
“Sorry to remind you we’re just kids,” Reisuke said.
“We know you’re just kids,” Zakrai said, trying to get them co-operate in a weird way, “You guys just possess incredible power for your age.”
“How are you so sure we possess enough of this ‘power’?” Aiko asked, “He wiped out an entire army with one sweep of his tail.”
“How the heck are we supposed to beat him?” Saiko asked.
“Guys no need to worry,” Goten said, “If we just believe in ourselves we could surely win.”
“Your friend has a point,” Zakrai said, “Determination and trust; aren’t those two qualities absolutely necessary for a soldier.”
“You guys say it like it’s easy,” Reisuke said, “How tall would this thing be?”
“Quite the inquisitive one aren’t you? He is approximately 11 feet tall,” Tortuis said, he read it off a sheet of paper which would seem to be a report.
“That doesn’t make it any better,” Saiko complained gulping at the thought of the creature. He shook his head trying to shake it out.
“We still can try,” Goten said trying to lighten his friend’s mood.
“Does trying count when you know you’re going to lose?” Saiko said.
“We won’t know if we don’t try,” Goten said, he knew they didn’t have much of a chance against such a being but this was the perfect time to test out his power. He looked at Saiko, fear was evident on his face, and it was obvious that he didn’t want to even be on the same planet on the monster but here they were going off to hunt it down.
They finally agreed and Zakrai and Saiko left, it was obvious they weren’t going to help them in any way but why would they make them of all people hunt down the monster? People that young shouldn’t be trusted with such large duties. Aiko and Reisuke didn’t mind either way it went. They were confident but that didn’t stop them from being afraid. Saiko groaned once again he lost in the argument, Aiko and Reisuke laughed, they didn’t mean to discourage Saiko but the whole scene was pretty funny.
They laughed together, Saiko was still sad but he learned to laugh at himself seeing as how much of a braggart he was before, it was a great improvement. They sat down, now that they were certain they were hunting down the monster, they had to come up with a plan. | |

| “Just great, “Goten groaned, he would be the leader of his team, he didn’t have the natural leader ability that most people were born with. When he was sure that he had it, it signed through the darkness for a second then it disappeared. To put a long story short he couldn’t lead the cows home. What he lacked in leadership, he certainly made up for it in power. He was the strongest in the group and that was pretty obvious. He was claimed to be the strongest only running on half of his power. He had won a tournament and secured the teams’ passing in the three other tests but this one he wasn’t so sure about.
“How do we find this thing?” Aiko asked. They were all sitting in a circle discussing the group’s plans.
“We can search for its powerlevel,” Reisuke suggested.
“Thanks for stealing all the fun,” Goten said, he liked to play detective when he was younger but now he had to be more serious after all he was going to be the leader of his team and he didn’t want to go goofing off and set a bad example, which Saiko would be quick to find.
Goten got up, “It’s settled we search for an unfamiliar powerlevel.” He closed his eyes, sensing for the closest and strangest powerlevel, one that made his seem...normal. His eyes opened, he had found it. It was considerably low; he couldn’t wait to go face to face with it. It was probably hiding its full power. He finally could test his power and maybe if things got rough he would have to use to his ability. It would blow his secret into the open but opportunities like that only came once in a lifetime and this may have been his only chance. He friends opened their eyes it seemed like they had found it too. He motioned towards the sky and they took off.
Zakrai and Tortuis nodded, they had locked up the monster and now it was time to watch their trainees fight. The monster had been found on the planet, it was probably frozen by the Tuffles. There it remained preserved; the Saiyans had once found it. They made the ice melt and released it out of curiosity but its power was not a lie. It was huge, it tool armies of Saiyans to back it up in that cave. The cave was then sealed by the elder’s magic and the seal was to remain unbroken and under no circumstances should they have broken it. Zakrai and Tortuis although had an unreal trust in Goten and his friends’ power so they broke the seal and sealed the monster’s power, there it rampaged about, it’s power was only a hundredth of its original. It took no effort to beat this monster with the seal so they chained it up, the truth was if anyone managed to break the seal they’d be in a world of trouble but Zakrai and Tortuis followed behind the young Saiyans, to unseal it when they had the chance.
Goten and his friends landed a few metres for a cave, it had this eerie feeling, the atmosphere was also considerably dark. Silence filled the air but it was soon shattered by the roar of an animal or monster. It was ear piercing, Goten grimaced. Saiko, Reisuke and Aiko stepped back. There enemy was a loud one indeed. Goten didn’t want to say a word in case this enemy was sensitive to sound. He jut pointed to where he heard the roar coming from and his teammates interpreted it nicely but of course they probably heard it too.
Saiko seemed to get over his fear or he hid it perfectly. Aiko and Reisuke seemed pretty fired up. The silence was making him nervous. Even thought he still wasn’t sure if the monster was sensitive to sound he tried to start a conversation, “So how strong do you think he’ll be?”
“Considering his powerlevel now I say fairly weak,” Reisuke said he had sensed the powerlevel a bit better since they were drawing near. He was beginning to think this test as a joke.
“His?” Aiko asked, “What makes you so sure it’s a male?”
“Reisuke has a gaydar,” Saiko said. Reisuke looked at him, he was quite irritated. A clenched fist was all that told him to shut up, Goten and Aiko on the other hand were laughing and clutching their sides, “Just saying.”Saiko added as he looked away from Reisuke.
“Don’t deny it Reisuke,” Aiko said, “You can still be our friend.”
“Enough with this crap!” Reisuke shouted.
“Fine, fine,” Goten said, “Mr. Grouch can’t take a joke.” Reisuke sighed, he feared for his teammates. One day they would just take a joke too far and get hurt and he’d be there. He wasn’t sure if he would be laughing or not but he would definitely be there. Goten looked up into the sky, there weren’t any clouds but a space pod had been launched. He could see it and who was inside, was that a...baby? Oh yeah, for a minute he had forgotten about the tradition if you were born weak, you would be shipped off to some other planet. Maybe he wanted to be shipped off to a planet but his father refused and well some bad stuffed happened and to make the long story short, after a few years he was basically raising himself.
Another roar was heard, he held his airs, the ground seemed to shake, was it the monster? Probably. He looked around he could see the monster faintly in the distance before he knew it he was dragging his friends toward the monster while running at top speed. Zakrai and Tortuis were of course following in the distance. They had hid their powerlevels well but Goten could still sense them. Goten stared in awe at the monster before them. Was this really what they were sensing? If it was, then it was suppressing its powerlevel big time.
Goten shrugged, his powerlevel was small but he was so large and usually the large guys pack quite a punch. Zakrai and Tortuis cackled, like evil witches. Well it was a silent cackle. If you heard it, it would have probably scared the crap out of you but who would blame you it was pretty scary. Zakrai chanted something in that bush and soon the giant’s powerlevel skyrocketed. Goten’s face went from confident to surprised to afraid. Its powerlevel had just increased by a whole lot, it seemed unreal. Goten didn’t want to believe it, he wouldn’t believe it. Was this what fear felt like, this unbearable feeling? Saiko, Aiko and Reisuke didn’t seem to be doing any better. Saiko looked about ready to run away shouting, “MOMMY!” But who could blame him the power was unbearable. It was dense, it was nothing like Goten had ever sensed before. If he didn’t expose his secret he’d die in a second. His friends wanted to run but Goten wouldn’t stop them. In fact he wanted them to run, to run as far away as possible maybe then they wouldn’t get hurt. He would blame himself if they got hurt, then he’d live his life down in shame.
Saiko clenched his fists; Goten knew he wasn’t going to give up. Maybe it was for respect or maybe he had backed down too much. Maybe he didn’t want to die running away. He knew running away from a stronger opponent wasn’t the best choice after all they could just find you and kill you for sure. This act made Goten realize, he would just crush his friends if he made them run away. Especially Saiko, he made an effort to be brave, Goten gritted his teeth. He had to stand up for his planet too. The monster roared once again its voice was shattering. Reisuke and Aiko caught on and they wouldn’t give up either. It was all about team effort right? Stick with your friends and share your power. Goten nodded and with a smile he signalled for all of the team to go all out.
Only one thing came to mind when Goten and his friends dashed at the opponent, “Worst idea ever.” With one sweep of its tail they were sent flying. Of course after regaining their balance they rushed back at the opponent this time attacking it with more power than before. This of course still landed them with a sweep of the tail. Goten dashed, up he was tired of getting beat up. His friends could barely get up after all they had been through. Goten’s tail was wrapped around hi waist; it was trying to resist from perking up with excitement, bundled up underneath the rage. He was part Saiyan after all. He loved a challenge and he especially loved it when there was a challenge. Goten powered up, it was time to use his new ability.
He began to gather his power, his muscles began to bulge and the very planet began to tremble under his feet. His hair began to float up, flashing between blond and black. His pupils disappeared, “AHHHHHH!!!!” He screamed as his pupils returned, they were now a shade of green. His friends looked at him, he was like a new person. His hair stuck up and remained blond. Goten frowned with that transformation came the rage that was bundled up inside of him. This reminded him of his first Super Saiyan transformation.
Flashback
Goten groaned, he was on the prison training grounds. Yagami had agreed to train him to become stronger; he had been told that the only way to fight was through rage and power. One day Yagami pushed him to his limit. He had worked him so hard that he could barely move; his entire body ached.
“Is that all?” Yagami asked, “Do you think you can defeat the King with that? He has better training systems; he’s probably gotten ten times stronger. While you my friend, you are barely progressing. We should give up; this is a waste of time.”
“No, I don’t want to give up,” Goten said, despite the pain he got up.
“I see, you’ve finally realised, the king will kill you in seconds if you don’t get stronger.”
“I don’t want to die.”
“The King will destroy everything, your neighbourhood! Did they throw you out when you needed their help?”
“No, they gave me the house I lived in,” Goten said still standing weakly.
“Are you going to let King Vegeta kill them?”
“N-No I won’t.” Goten said, his body had become firmer; his power was slowly rising along with his hidden rage.
“Are you going to let him kill you, your family...everything you hold dear?” Yagami asked; he was going to get Goten angry so his power would increase.
“NO, I won’t!!!! RAAAAHHH!!!” Just like a thin twig, Goten had snapped. His rage was overwhelming, and he began to transform. His hair and power changed impressively and his speed could be matched by no other. Goten stood there a grim look on his face. After about a second he reverted and fell to the ground. He had used too much energy and the transformation had taken a lot out of him too. The other prisoners went rowdy because of the sudden huge powerlevel and how it suddenly disappeared. It could have been their ticket to freedom.
End Flashback
“Ready?” Goten asked, “READY TO FEEL MY WRATH?!?” Goten’s power had sky-rocketed. His rage had pushed his mind aside and was now acting on its own. He was almost on par with the stranger creature. He brought his hand to his side and began charging his ki. His hand began to go ki forming around it. The ki then compressed itself into a ball; he threw the ball at Hirudegawn, who was affected by the attack. Goten grinned it had suddenly become a lot easier. He then began to power up for his new move.
He charged ki into his hands, they began to glow. Yellow ki began to surround his hand and, he formed that hand into a fist, “ENERGY FIST!” He shouted as he dashed at Hirudegawn, attempting to get a hit out of his attack. He jumped over Hirudegawn’s tail sweep and then punched in what seemed like its stomach. The attack was ineffective. He jumped off Hirudegawn and landed a few meters away, “I can’t do this,” Goten said, “I was using my full power but...”
“Let go of your restraints.” A mysterious voice said.
“What restraints? I’m going all out.”
“Don’t let your head by crowded with lies, let go.”
“All right,” Goten said, “I’ll let go!” He began to power up, his power was now incredible. He looked at himself, where did all this power come from? He didn’t know but he had no choice but to use it. He had to use all his energy; he focused all his energy into one punch. Reisuke, Aiko and Saiko got up, “We don’t know what’s happening but we’ll help in anyway possible,” Saiko said.
“We’ll use our remaining energy to distract him while you attack him.”
“Are you sure,” Goten asked. He had to use this chance. They nodded and soon they were attacking the monster. Goten summoned almost all his energy into his hand, “Let’s try this again!” he screamed as he jumped over his tail and clung on to the monster, “ENERGY PUNCH!” He slammed his fist into the monster. He jumped off and cupped his hands, “KAMEHAMEHA!” He screamed as he aimed his attack to where he had previously punched. That was the final move; his attack had pierced a hole through Hirudegawn. His friends had stopped attack and the body dissolved. Goten reverted, he fell to the ground. He never had to use so much ki while dealing with an opponent. | |
